My birthday !!!!

On the eleventh of February, it was my 21st birthday!I know, I'm getting old ... almost a grand father. Anyway, it was a nice birthday with my family and with my friends. I organized two parties in Lisieux : On monday with romain, emile, mary and maxime and onwednesday with maxime and farid, mary's cousine and her friend, romain and victor. On monday mary cooked spiced beef with chinese pasta (we ate with chinese chopstick even if maxime had trouble doing it!!!). Just before, we ate escargots and pizzas. And for dessert, it was the traditionnal "galette des Rois" (too late). maxime and romain were the Kings and they chose mary and emile as Queen! Thank you maxime mary romain and emilefor this very nice evening at Emile's place. On tuesday it was a great party at Caen. To start, we were four (Clément, Victor, Romain and me) to eat an excellent fondue (dish of melted cheese) and some cakes (and one made by Maxime ... congratulations !). After that, other people came, and it was a big party. On sunday I celebrated my birthday with my family. It was at the same time the 49rd birthday of my mother. We ate some galettes. I was offered a perfume, a lot of nice clothes and money. WHAT A BIRTHDAY !

My last party in Lisieux

We knew it was the last party at Lisieux, Romain and me, we knew it a week before, but we didn't knew why and we hadn't been disappointed. It was a thursday likethe others, we bought lot of alcohol with emile romain mary me and clement. maxime didn't want to come with us at this party. We drunk a lot of and we went to the insomnia. The problem is that i didn't remember the party, so i can't say to you that it is happened. i remember two things:
- i acted so stupid in the night club i've been excluded
- when i came back, i found clement who slept behind my flat

Xmas time

Less than one week before Wmas. Everybody’s getting ready for the 24th and 25th of December, buying presents, preparing meals (salmon, foie gras, oysters and other disgusting food), wrapping gifts for their family, lovers or friends.
However, I think this year Xmas has lost its magic. Maybe it’s because i’m almost a grown-up now.
As a child, 8 days before Xmas, i couldn’t think of anything but the video game I was going to be offered. I’ve never beleived in Santa Claus (because my parents wanted me to thank them for presents), although i saw Christmas like something maravellous. I had a “calendrier de l’avent” with pictures instead of chocolates and i decored my Xmas tree with my family. This year it’s all PINK ! “It’s the new trend” said my sister. Anyway, i looked forward to Xmas when i was younger.
This year, i haven’t even bought one present, my sister takes care of this part. I know i’m going to share the eve meal with all my cousins, aunts and uncles, like every year, and i don’t really like the idea of spending an entire night with them. I hope there will be champagne ! I’ll tell you about this evening after it. I want to show you my wish-list :

I’d like : a car
Or money to buy a car.

I’m not sure my family will give me what I want, so if you like me, you know what i’d like for Xmas now.

The best game: the poker

.I saw in an other blog someone who make an article about poker. I think have had this idea since many time but I never had courage to make it. As I play it sometimes during the weeks in lisieux.

Poker is a card game you practise with several players using a set of fifty-two cards and chips. Most often the players use the chips to represent the money they are playing. There is several differents rules. The most played is the hold'em. I would like to introduce you this kind of poker. At the begining all the players receive two downcards as their personal hand ( called holecards), after they saw these there is a round of betting. This round is over when the player have the same number of chips in front of them.Three boardcards are turned simultaneously (called the flop) and another round of betting occurs. In fact the player payd to see the card.The next two boardcards are turned oneby one, with a round of betting after each card. The player bet because they hope the will have the best five-card combination from among the board and his personal cards. A player win if any body have more than him. The combination order is :

-high card

-pair
-two pairs
-three of a kind
-straight
-flush
-full house-four of a kind
-straight flush
-royal flush

I hope this small explication could do you will play, maybe with me, during the week. I forgot to say you if you play with me you will lose because I win every time....

The best french serie : Plus belle la vie (of course)

Many people will disagree, saying the actors are bad players, the stories are unrealistic, and this is no worth following this serie every night because we know what's going to happen next. However, the fact is that the channel gets more than three million viewers at each broadcast. And this figure shows I'm not the only one who likes Plus belle la vie (PBLV).

20:20 pm, after having diner, the news on all the other channels, I can't help myslef watching PBLV. No need to think too hard, I spend twenty-five minutes watching the Mistral inabitants' life. I've known them for a couple of years now : Rolland, the owner of the popular bar, Mélanie, the waitress, Nathan the teenager...

The actors will never be stars of cinema, because they can't play as well as Morgan Freeman, but I don't even notice the mistakes they make anymore.
The scenarists will never receive any price, because the stories aren't original, but I really care about what's going on in Rudy's life or in Blanche's family even if they don't have super powers.

French people like PBLV, because they can identify themselves with the characters. (I look like Rudy << I dont' t think that but people said that)). And, the most important moment is the end. It's always so surprising, I have to watch the following episode...

PBLV is also a moment when families or friends are together to talk about what's going to happen.

Message for emile et victor: I will be to play to poker with you only if I can watch PBLV

The best in the music: David Guetta, Sniper, Bob Marley

For me David Guetta is the best DJ in the world. His best known song are “The world is mine”, “Love don’t let me go”, “Love is gone” and “Baby when the light".

I think he’s the best, and one day i’ll go to see him at Ibiza. I’ve sawn him twice and it was the best night in my life (except a little problem). Each time, a friend mine drove us to the party, so that I could really enjoy the night. I was about to see him again this summer at Cannes but there was a small incident (not my fault this time) so I didn’t.

He’ll mix on December 7^th at “Les Planches” and i think about going overthere.

Sniper is the best french rap band who has ever sang. It’s composed by 3 artists : El tunisino, Aketo and blacko. They come from the Val d’Oise.

This band is like no other because all their lyrics mean somehting and are well thought.

They have made many albums, but my favorite are : the first on “Du rire au larme” made in 2001, the second one, called “Gravé dans la roche”, which has been the more successful, The songs were about the israëlo-palestin conflict. And i liked also the last one “Trait pour trait”. Because of it, the band was in trouble with the Justice with the songs “La France” and “Jeteurs de pierres”. Nicolas Sarkozy called them antisemists because of the last one.

Sniper is the band i’ve the most listened to in my childhood, and it’s my favorite one !

Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, guitarist, and activist. He is the most widely known performer of reggae music. A faithful Rastafarian, Marley is regarded by many as a prophet of the religion.

Bob Marley is best known for his reggae songs, which include the hits "I Shot the Sheriff", "No Woman, No Cry", "Three Little Birds", "Exodus", "Could You Be Loved", "Jammin'", "Redemption Song", and "One Love". His posthumous compilation album Legend(1984) is the best-selling reggae album ever, with sales of more than 12 million copies.

The best film: Lucky Number Slevin

This is a film made by Paul McGuigan, which was realised in June 2006. Many famous actors play in it such as Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Morgan Freeman, Lucy Liu or Mickael Runbenfeld.

I am not going to tell the story of the film, otherwise you would have no reason to see it, but I will tell you what I thought about it.

This film is great. It's not like american movies with the usual killers and the totally unreal stunts. The story is original, and the suspense is there until the end. All the details are well done, references until the choice of actors. I admire such films which are, nowadays, becoming increasingly rare. That is, a true scenario concrete, a dream cast and a realisation control. Slevin is not to be missed!

I warn you, however, that since this is a good senario, the story really begins in the second part of the film. So, be patient.

The best players: Zizou and Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho: For me, this is the best player still active Aathough not currently in form. I am a fan of him since he played with Paris Saint Germain although it was often substitute. I know him since 1997 when he won the World Cup under-17 years with brazil and the copa america won in 1999 with the team first.

In 2001, he arrived in Paris where I saw him play twice: once in a friendly match aigainst Caen and once at the Parc Des Princes against Troyes and he took a match extraordinary lay and did earn his team 4-2 then she lost 2-0 at the half.

In 2002, Brazil won the World Cup in particular thanks to him and Ronaldo. In 2003, he signed with FC Barcelona and its first year in a big club, he was elected player of the year before the consecration in 2005 and he became a ball of gold. He also won the Champions League against arsenal in 2006. As I said, for me it is the best player in the world…… since zizou retired

Now, after the blunderer, I'm going to introduce myself. My name is Samir, I am 20 years old and I live in the most boring city in the world. Fortunately, every week-end I come back at my parents' and I hang out wih my friends and speak with my wonderful sister !
I have lived in Lisieux for three years because I have repeated my first year in my IUT.
I've met a lot of great people (Estelle, Marjorie, Fabien, Emile, Romain rica, Victor, Pierre, Elodie (ex), Mary, Lucy, Maxime,...) and a lot of bad people (I won't name them). But I look forward to leave this city because it is so boring. I don't know where I will be next year.

The GMO

Some of you have already heard about this topic once (in French class) some of you have heard about it twice (in French class and in English class) but some of you have never heard and so that nobody may be jealous, they can read it on my blog.

So I'm going to talk to you about GMOs (It is a stupid sentence, that has no need to say but it avoids thinking about an introduction because it works for all subjects).

As you know, (for everybody I think), the GMOs are organisms whose their genes are modified to add caracteristics that they don’t have or remove the harmful. The main reason of GMOs creation is to make plants more resistant (for example against insects or meteorological phenomenas). For a lot of years, a fight against the GMOs has been lead but until now, the scientists have never seen a major problem.

So, I have decided to show you the positive impact of GMOs in three domains: the production, the environnement and the health.

The production:

- Every year, farmers complain about their crops being devastated by insects or bad weather. With the GMOs, we can reinforce crop and so reduce the risk of lost and we get a better production.

- If we use GMOs, we can resolve the problem of animal sproduction. Indeed if we insert gene into animals, we can increase their yield.

- Lastly the GMOs allow to produce more food on the same surface so when we know that the rice is the food the more eaten in the world, we can said it’s beneficial.

The environnement:

- As I told you, now we can produce more on the same surface, so soils are less damaged.

- If the soils are less damaged, it’s also the new crops are more resistant with insects and bad weather as drought or flooding.

- The GMOs bring a solution at wasting ‘s problems. With the GMOs the preserving ‘s duration is longer.

- Lastly, most of scientists agreed to said that the GMOs reduce the industry’s impact on the environnement. For example, the resistance to insects reduce the numbers of pesticids used by farmers so, chemical products and it’s better for the environnement and their health.

The health:

- Firstly because, in the world, a lot of people suffer from a lack of vitamins and the GMOs we can inject vitamin in the food.

- Secondly because, with the science we can create vaccines or medicines.

To conclude, I think GMOs are good for the society for all these reasons. (My introduction was also zero in French than in English)

THE BLUNDERER

Now I've known him for three years and i don't know whether it's a good or a bad thing.
During my very first year i never spoke with him.That''s normal, he didn't come in class because he prefered going to see the horses race at the race course. The very few times i saw him, it was at parties, in discos when he was very drunk.
I really knew him when I was in second first year, beacause at the beginning of the year, he was the only person that i knew. Since that moment, he's been my workfriend, beacause we have worked together all year long. The result is that we finished second and fifth in the promotion. But the second semester was harder and we started again to party and our results were degraded.
If I say that Maxime is a blunderer is because i have the proof of it. You shouldn't say your secrets to him because he will repeat them even if it's not on purpose. Furthermore, if you like a girl, don't tell him because he's going to make feel bad in front of her. He knows what i'm talking about.(Emi, Justine, Lucy, Azélie...)
But I want to say that if he hadn't been in the IUT, maybe I wouldn't be with you this year because it is thanks to him I have survived in my second first year and even if I annoy him every time he's my friend and he is not nasty. The best thing about him : he has a donkey named Pingouin.
